Tolleson Awarded Diplomate Post-Licensure Certification in Prestigious Academy of Geo-Professionals(Reston, VA) In its August 2011 Meeting, the Board of Directors of the Academy of Geo-Professionals (AGP) approved induction of ten professionals into the highest rank of ‘Diplomate’ of the Academy. The Diplomate Geotechnical Engineer (D.GE) status is considered the highest rank of post licensure certification in the geo-professional disciplines. Andrew R. Tolleson was one of ten candidates out of sixty that were inducted in the bi-annual board meeting. The Academy of Geo-Professionals has bestowed Diplomate GE certification for only 200 geotechnical engineers worldwide. The AGP's Diplomate certification program receives accreditation status from the Council of Engineering & Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB). The Academy of Geo-Professionals (AGP) was formed by Geo-Professional Engineers from the Civil Engineering Certification, Inc. (CEC), which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) to improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the Geo-Profession. Nomination to International Construction Management Association (ICPMA) Accepted(Czech Republic) The Tolleson Limited Company (USA) and its affiliate company, MTE Limited (Turks & Caicos, BWI) announce induction of its Director & CEO Andrew R. Tolleson into the International Construction Project Management Association (ICPMA). Mr. Tolleson’s nomination was accepted by the ICPMA Board in April 2011. The ICPMA was initiated in 2001 in Cannes, France, as an informal group of professionals, academics, and association representatives active in the field of Construction Project Management with the aim to:
- Identify, develop, use and share the knowledge of construction project management worldwide;
- Create an international platform for construction project management;
- Gain recognition for the profession and ICPMA;
- Set international standards for construction project management
Since 2003, ICPMA has gained in membership and following the Association’s 2005 AGM in Prague a constitution has been developed to secure the above. In the following year ICPMA was registered as a non-profit organisation in Switzerland.Until the 2009 AGM the ICPMA membership was based on country principle with the idea of having a representative of professional practice, university and national association from every member country. ICPMA had Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, India, Ireland, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and USA as members. Retaining Wall Design & Slope Stability Seminar

These structures include bulkheads, retaining walls, mechanically stabilized earth walls and a number of proprietary wall systems. Knowledge of behavior and feasibility of these systems is crucial to the designer and Owner. New techniques and software tools are available for use by engineers, architects and other design professionals to optimize design and value over the life of the structure. Man-Made Islands Discussed in AIJA International Law ConferenceAugust 2010
(Charleston, SC) The 48th AIJA Annual Congress held in Charleston SC featured a discussion of legal and engineering issues related to artificial island and created land development over water. The AIJA is the only global association devoted to lawyers and inhouse counsel aged 45 and under. Through a wide range of meetings, seminars, law courses and advocacy, the AIJA aim is to promote professional cooperation and friendship among young career-building legal professionals on an international stage.. Andrew Tolleson. A board licensed engineer with The Tolleson Limited Company / USA and Managing Director of MTE Limited located in the British West Indies presented on topics relating to unique engineering challenges associated with constructing artificial islands and deep ocean platforms. In the working session of the Scientific Program an international panel of experts responded to questions relating to legal, environmental, engineering and development . Design of Dam Spillway on US Army Base Completed / Fort Jackson, SCJuly 2010
(Fort Jackson, SC) An aged and dilapidated spillway culvert on a 48 acre lake has been replaced on Fort Jackson, an active US Army facility located near Columbia, SC. The Messers Pond is fed by two tributaries that encompass a massive 7,800 acre contributory watershed. The Tolleson Limited Company was retained as engineer-of-record as part of a design build team under a military MATOC contract. The design solution and permitting included coordination for National Wetlands Inventory, FEMA flood plain, NPDES permitting and avoidance of archeological sites. The engineering and permitting aspects were performed concurrently and were competed in a fast-track three month period. Work was performed with FutureNet Group, the military subcontractor responsible for program management delivery and Monteray Constriction. Design work applied USACAOE and HEC-RAS methods.
Providenciales Airport Improvement Construction Quality ControlJuly 2010
(Providenciales, Turks & Caicos / British West Indies) The Turks and Caicos Islands are undertaking a significant airport improvement program. Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA) awarded the $35.5 million improvement contract to Dexter Construction, a Canadian heavy construction contractor with extensive aviation experience. As part of this work the TCIAA mandated a comprehensive construction quality control plan. MTE Limited in collaboration with The Tolleson Limited Company (USA) were awarded the QC Inspection subcontract. The MTE Limited Company is a Turks and Caicos Islands charted engineering consultancy with extensive material testing experience and fully equipped on-site materials testing facilities. Construction of the runway and apron improvements is scheduled to be complete June 2011. The airport is referred to as IATA: PLS, ICAO: MBPV.
